Interesting...couldn't access it for months! Part 2

Are we in the final days of the world as we know it? Let's check science, instead of the bible, for a change...and find out. Your call! Part V

Fortunately, the Yellowstone volcanic system shows no signs that it is headed toward such an eruption in the near future. In fact, the probability of any such event occurring at Yellowstone within the next few thousand years is exceedingly low.

The term "supervolcano" has no specifically defined scientific meaning. It was used by the producers of The BBC TV show Horizion in 2000 to refer to volcanoes that have generated Earth's largest volcanic eruptions.

As such, a supervolcano would be one that has produced an exceedingly large, catastrophic explosive eruption and a giant caldera.

Scientists evaluate natural-hazard levels by combining their knowledge of the frequency and the severity of hazardous events. In the Yellowstone region, damaging hydrothermal explosions and earthquakes can occur several times a century. Lava flows and small volcanic eruptions occur only rarely" and none in the past 70,000 years. Massive caldera-forming eruptions, though the most potentially devastating of Yellowstone's hazards, are extremely rare." Only three have occurred in the past several million years. U.S. Geological Survey, University of Utah, and National Park Service scientists with the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory (YVO) see no evidence that another such cataclysmic eruption will occur at Yellowstone in the foreseeable future. Recurrence intervals of these events are neither regular nor predictable. credit: USGS

Scientists have revealed that Yellowstone Park has been on a regular eruption cycle of 600,000 years. The last eruption was 640,000 years ago. The next is overdue. The next eruption could be 2,500 times the size of the 1980 Mount St. Helens eruption. Volcanologists have been tracking the movement of magma under the park and have calculated that in parts of Yellowstone the ground has risen over seventy centimeters this century.

Normal volcanoes are formed by a column of magma - molten rock - rising from deep within the Earth, erupting on the surface, and hardening in layers down the sides. This forms the familiar cone shaped mountain we associate with volcanoes.

You can read the rest at the link. I just wanted to show all of you that we may very well be headed down the path that some naysayers say..."no way" to. Of course, it's all based on scientific evidence, not just biblical references. Again, I ask all of you...what will you say when it's time to meet your maker? angel

Don't want to listen to Religion? How about science? Part I

There are a lot of people who don't believe in Christ, or the teachings of such. Well, I for one, am a firm believer in Christ.

Now, one of the things I've noted is that there is an awful lot of 'happenings' going on now a days, and each seem to signal (to just about any christian) that the end times may be at hand. Being a christian, we've all been forwarned that we should be prepared for his coming. However, if you tell folks these things, most tend to blow Christians off as missing a few marbles, or just people who are pushing their beliefs on others.

So...over the last few days, I decided to look into just how many things were really occurring, as of late, that signals the end nearing, and Christ's return. But, I decided to do it, using science, as opposed to religion. Below are just some of my findings:

Can you see some of the same things I see?

1. Leaks Found in Earth's Protective Magnetic Field
http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/081216-agu-solar-storm-shield-break.html

Scientists have found two large leaks in Earth's magnetosphere, the region around our planet that shields us from severe solar storms.

The leaks are defying many of scientists' previous ideas on how the interaction between Earth's magnetosphere and solar wind occurs: The leaks are in an unexpected location, let in solar particles in faster than expected and the whole interaction works in a manner that is completely the opposite of what scientists had thought.

The findings have implications for how solar storms affect the our planet. Serious storms, which involved charged particles spewing from the sun, can disable satellites and even disrupt power grids on Earth.

The new observations "overturn the way that we understand how the sun's magnetic field interacts with the Earth's magnetic field," said David Sibeck of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., during a press conference today at the annual meeting of the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco.

The bottom line: When the next peak of solar activity comes, in about 4 years, electrical systems on Earth and satellites in space may be more vulnerable. Read the full article, so that you don't think I've taken anything out of context or left out anything. I didn't post the whole article, because I would run out of character space.

Which brings me to the long count, the 5125.257 year Mayan calendar, ending according to archaeologists around December 21st 2012, the culmination of the fifth period of a larger 25526.3 year calendar. Troubling is the Mayan assertion that this period coincides with a new Sun and the end of the world as we know it, by earthquake.

This would be easy to brush aside as ancient myth until one realises that the 25526.3 cycle which the Mayans so elaborately designed can be divided by the 177.925 year sunspot cycle exactly 144 times. A sort of Hitchhiker's Guide To The Universe moment. The 5125.257 year cycle also contains whole orbit synchronicity between Mars (.015 orbit difference) Jupiter (.084) Saturn (.01) Uranus (.003). Bit of a coincidence then. Imagine, all those planets arriving back in the same orbital positions after a lapse of 25626 years and that being in accord with Mayan calendrics and prophecy.

A reversal could knock out power grids, hurt astronauts and satellites, widen atmospheric ozone holes, send polar auroras flashing to the equator and confuse birds, fish and migratory animals that rely on the steadiness of the magnetic field as a navigation aid. But experts said the repercussions would fall short of catastrophic, despite a few proclamations of doom and sketchy evidence of past links between field reversals and species extinctions.

Although a total flip may be hundreds or thousands of years away, the rapid decline in magnetic strength is already damaging satellites.

This past month, the European Space Agency approved the world's largest effort at tracking the field's shifts. A trio of new satellites, called Swarm, are to monitor the collapsing field with far greater precision than before and help scientists forecast its prospective state.

Ahem...my comment...aren't animals becoming extinct in record numbers? Let's see, shall we? http://www.all-creatures.org/articles/env-animalext.html

But, as harmful as our forebears may have been, nothing compares to what's under way today. Throughout the 20th century the causes of extinction - habitat degradation, overexploitation, agricultural monocultures, human-borne invasive species, human-induced climate-change - increased exponentially, until now in the 21st century the rate is nothing short of explosive. The World Conservation Union's Red List - a database measuring the global status of Earth's 1.5 million scientifically named species - tells a haunting tale of unchecked, unaddressed, and accelerating biocide. When we hear of extinction, most of us think of the plight of the rhino, tiger, panda or blue whale. But these sad sagas are only small pieces of the extinction puzzle. The overall numbers are terrifying. Of the 40,168 species that the 10,000 scientists in the World conservation Union have assessed, one in four mammals, one in eight birds, one in three amphibians, one in three conifers and other gymnosperms are at risk of extinction. The peril faced by other classes of organisms is less thoroughly analysed, but fully 40 per cent of the examined species of planet earth are in danger, including perhaps 51 per cent of reptiles, 52 per cent of insects, and 73 per cent of flowering plants. By the most conservative measure - based on the last century's recorded extinctions - the current rate of extinction is 100 times the background rate. But the eminent Harvard biologist Edward O Wilson, and other scientists, estimate that the true rate is more like 1,000 to 10,000 times the background rate. The actual annual sum is only an educated guess, because no scientist believes that the tally of life ends at the 1.5 million species already discovered; estimates range as high as 100 million species on earth, with 10 million as the median guess. Bracketed between best- and worst-case scenarios, then, somewhere between 2.7 and 270 species are erased from existence every day.

More? This guy is Chairman of the Board of Aerospace Consulting Corporation:

Devastating earthquakes. Record-breaking tsunamis. Category 5 hurricanes. Spiking global temperatures. World war. Predictions of how it will all end have been around for thousands of years. In Apocalypse 2012, Lawrence E. Joseph reveals the curious fact that 2012 has been pinpointed as a pivotal, perhaps cataclysmic, year in human history by ancient sources and contemporary science alike. He delves into historical and spiritual materials as diverse as Revelations, the I Ching, and the Islamic Hadith, drawing on scholarly works. He does a scientific research in the heart of Siberia, he meets with geophysicists who contend that the solar system is moving into a highly charged interstellar energy cloud. And on the tip of South Africa, he interviews physicists who are trying to make sense of the fact that the earth’s magnetic field is vanishing.

Apocalypse 2012 is an authoritative and deeply unsettling appraisal of just how close the earth, or at least our species might be to extinction.

Now, what if our world, as we know it, is at its end days, and you have a mere 3 yrs to exist? What will you do between now and then? And, what if...just what if, christ is real? What if, everything that's showing up in this day and age, is just the beginning of what's to come? And, most important, what will you tell your maker when you get there?

Are you a martyr like me? Part I

Someone sent a comment about my photos, today. So, I went to see his profile, as I often do. Upon doing so, I saw a typical biker, who wasn't so typical. I know I've been guilty, many times, of thinking the same thoughts he mentioned on his profile, which made me feel guilty of doing so. I even do it to this day. Anyway, I thought it important enough to copy most of his words here, so that maybe, the next time we all think badly of these folks, just because they dress differently (or anyone who doesn't conform to society's belief of what a good, decent human being should be,) that we re-think how we look upon others that aren't like ourselves. I know for me, I won't be so quick to judge those that aren't exactly like myself, because if I do, I become a martyr. Now, isn't that the way it is for christians too? You know, people tend to criticize christians for being christian, yet many people who call themselves christians do the same thing to bikers, and those that don't conform to what we believe to be decent. Isn't it the same thing? Aren't we all condemning someone for the way they are...whether it be by looks or by religion or by skin color, or by disabilities, etc? The list goes on and on. It's time to take a step back and understand what we do to one another, just because we're different.

From the fellow's page:

The Biker...

I saw you, hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line. But, you didn't see me put an extra $100.00 in the collection plate last Sunday.

I saw you, pull your child closer when we passed each other on the sidewalk. But, you didn't see me playing Santa at the local mall.

I saw you change your mind about going into the restaurant. But, you didn't see me, attending a meeting to raise more money for hurricane relief.

I saw you roll up your window and shake your head when I rode by. But, you didn't see me riding behind you when you flicked your cigarette butt out the car window.

I saw you frown at me when I smiled at your children.

But, you didn't see me when I took time off from work to run toys to the homeless.

I saw you stare at my long hair. But, you didn't see me and my friends cut ten inches off for Locks of Love.

I saw you roll your eyes at our leather jackets and gloves. But, you didn't see me & my brothers donate our old ones to those that had none.

I saw you look in fright at my tattoos. But, you didn't see me cry as my children were born & have their name written over my heart.

I saw you change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere. But, you didn't see me as I went home to be with my family.

I saw you complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be. But, you didn't see me when you were changing the CD and drifted into my lane.

I saw you yelling at your kids in the car. But, you didn't see me pat my child's hands, knowing he was safe behind me.

I saw you reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road. But, you didn't see me squeeze my wife's leg when she told me to take the next turn.

I saw you race down the road in the rain. But, you didn't see me get soaked to the skin so that my son could have the car to go on his date.

I saw you run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of time. But, you didn't see me trying to turn right.

I saw you cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was in. But, you didn't see me leave the road.

I saw you waiting impatiently for my friends to pass.

But, you didn't see me, because I wasn't there.

I saw you go home to your family. But, you didn't see me because I died the day you cut me off.

I was just a biker; a person with friends and a family.

But, you didn't see me.

Praying - Part I

You know, up until recently, I thought I knew how to pray. Then, one day, I realized I was doing it all wrong. God makes us a promise that if we ask, we shall receive, but sometimes, we, as humans, don't understand what he's saying.

Sometimes, we don't realize that what we need (or want) requires God's input. Some think that what we want, we can do on our own, and we don't need God to help. Others beleive that we need to save our prayers for something important. Why bother God with the trivial matters, eh? I know I was one of those people. I believed, but I didn't realize what he was saying to me.

He's our father, and as all fathers love their children, he loves us. He doesn't want us to suffer. In fact, he wants to help us in every decision we make here on earth. He wants us to listen to him, as all fathers want their children to listen, because he knows better than us. He's already "been there, done that!" So, he's waiting for us to ask for help.

Now, to depict how this works, allow me to show you what I did & what the results were. I had a stuffed up sink. My septic tank appeared to be backing up into my yard, a bit. It wasn't drastic or anything, but it appeared to be having some small difficulties. Up until recently, I didn't even know I had a septic tank, beleive it or not. Anyway, my sink water wouldn't go down. So, I figured I would give it a shot. I said, "God, it's in your hands...in the name of Jesus Christ, I turn it over to you. Please fix my sink." No sooner did I say those words, the water in my sink began to recede. Now, the water didn't just go down, it went down with the speed of lightning. I was amazed!

Anyway, the day went on, and there was kind of a foul odor in my back yard. So, I researched it on the internet & came across a bunch of sites that informed me of my drain field. Everything looked like the drainfield had collapsed. So, I called a company & explained the problem to them. They said, it sounded like it was my drainfield. Well, today, they came to pump my septic tank & the guy said, he might not be able to drain it out, because the drain may have collapsed around itself. I said, "I'm sure it will be ok. God will take care of it." The guy said, "God would have to be in the septic tank business to do so." I said, "God's in every business! In fact, he was in the plumbing business just last week, because he fixed my drain," I smiled, hehe. The guy looked at me as if I had lost my mind, but smiled, nonetheless.

As he was speaking, the drain started to empty into his hose. It took minutes to empty out. The guy looked around in amazement. He couldn't believe it! It was like a miracle had just taken place, right there in front of him. Cont'd...

Praying II

Mind you, my home is over 50 yrs old & the odds that the pipes were clear, were pretty slim to none, especially since I hadn't had them cleaned the entire time I had lived here. It was about four or five years ago that it had been done. Anyway, he asked me to flush the toilets & I did. The line was absolutely clear...and everything went along amazingly well. I paid the guy & he left.

Now, when I said what I said to him, about God taking care of it, I still had my doubts. I didn't say that, but I did question it, inside. However, I knew I had to believe that God would take care of it...&, of course, he did!

So, instead of worrying about things you have no control of, turn it over to God. If he thinks it would be a good thing for you, he'll take care of it. Of course, that doesn't mean you'll get everything you ask for, but when you learn to turn things over to God, he does the things that 'he thinks' are good for you, especially when it teaches you to come to him out of love.

Now, is there a price? Yes, and he died to pay that price for you. ;) Is there a price in the end? Yes...there is another price you must pay back, in the end... (cont'd)

Praying III

Cont'd from above...

He's going to ask you, one day, "What did you do with your life?" He will say, "Did you take care of my flock, and did you try to live according to my law?"

That is the price you will pay. I hope you can answer him with the same words that I try to answer him with on a daily basis. I know I will say, "Yes, lord, I did, and yes, I try everyday, but I am a sinner. However, everyday, I will continue to try, and I will make babysteps toward you even if I fall down, here and there. I know that when I do fall, you pick me up, time and time again...and for that, and all that you've given me, I thank you."

Now, it's your turn. Can you believe in something that you can't see...something that makes no sense, whatsoever? Can you believe in it, more than you don't believe in it? If you can...your prayers will be answered.

The bible says, "Don't pray like the heathen pray! Instead, cover your head, go into a room all alone, and give all your problems to God. Not just small things...everything -- all your troubles, whether large or small." Then, go tell others what the results were, or as the bible says, "tell others what you have witnessed." Everytime you do, God gives you even more. He takes care of everything! You just need to turn it over to him and not worry about it, anymore. It's the most amazing thing you've ever seen and it works. I know...I'm a living example of his great work. Everyday, I have to ask myself, how on earth I could be worthy of this? And, he answers me, "you are my daughter, as are all my children here in this world. Of course you are worthy. That's why I gave you my only begotten son, because I love you so much."

I am the lowliest, not even worth the dirt on his feet, but he loves me so much that he looks out for me, daily. Are you not worth what I am? God tells us that we all are, and he doesn't lie, ever! Merry Christmas to you all.

Can You Imagine What God Felt, When He Gave His Only Son to Us?

Imagine what God felt, if you will, when he sent his son here to die for us. Imagine sending 'YOUR' only child, whom you dearly love, to another place, another land...with full knowledge that when you do, he will be killed.

Of course, God could see the future, so since you're imagining that you're him...you would already know your son wouldn't 'JUST' be killed. No, he would be persecuted, beaten and tormented by thousands. Your child would be hated and traumatized, beyond what any normal man could endure. And even on his death bed, they would kick him, punch him, and stab him with spears. Even after death, you would hear them taunt him, and you would know that he would be criticized and laughed at, and the people below him would call him names and bet on his clothes.

Now, imagine being the father of this child. Imagine your heart being torn out of your chest, as you watched your son take his last breaths.

His message was clear...he gave his only begotten son, so that ALL of us could be cleansed. He loved ALL his children. That includes the gamblers, the alcoholics, the sick, the disabled and the homeless, not just the clean & saved. He loved them enough to allow his only begotten son to die a horrible, horrible death.

He wants all of us to love each other in the same way he loved us. Unfortunately, the majority pick & choose & they sit in judgement of the rest. They look at the person's tattered clothes and think, "Yeah, well, they can get a job." Can they? Have you walked in their shoes, today? Do you know what their situation is, or what happened to cause them to be in the situation they're in?

And, people tend to justify further, "The person is nothing but a drunk!" Are they? Or, has the person's life turned, because they've had hard times & didn't know what else to do? Maybe the person lost a parent or a child. Maybe they lost their home to fire on Christmas. Maybe the person lost what little financial capability they might have had? Maybe the person's parent molested her/him, or a family friend did and they had no one to turn to. Maybe they were raped? Maybe their child was murdered. Maybe the person fought in the war, and watched numerous friends murdered or slaughtered, & now they wake up to the sound of those people screaming again and again.

What I'm saying is, unless we walk a mile in that person's shoes, we don't know what sent them over the edge. Thus, we have no right to judge that person. However, it is our moral duty to help the drunks, the druggies, the homeless, the sick, and the needy...the same as Christ did for us.

Can you imagine what Jesus thought when the beggars came to him? Do you think Jesus thought...they're dirty, I won't feed them? No, he put his hand out and touched each one of them. He fed them & he healed them, even on the sabbath. And, that's exactly what he wants us to do with one another.

So, during this thanksgiving holiday, I tell you this...let no man go hungry that comes to you. Even if they don't come to you, go to them, as Jesus came to us and went to them. Love them the same way God loved us. He loved us enough to send his only son, Jesus, to die for us. That is the ultimate sacrifice! If that isn't true love, I don't know what is.

God Bless All,
Angel
